The 2000 Election and me

For a class I was taking ( US Government/Civics) I had to volunteer (forced volunteerism, strange?) for a Presidential campaign. There was another choice- write a 20 page paper on how elections have changed or something along those lines. Here were my choices:

Nader- that crazy sumbitch wants us to give up SUVs, hell no.
Buchanan- his anti-immigrations stance. Hell, I wouldn't be around.
The Gorebot (TM)- I can't stand Clinton, so his veep isn't what I want.
Bush- partly because I did't have another choice (ok, ok the Libertarian party- but I don't even know the candidate's name) and partly because I liked what he said.

So I got to work distributing flyers, door to door. It was fun and the weather was nice, so I didn't mind it (It wasn't in my district, though). I was there Election Night, at my polling booth handing out flyers, etc. I was there was they tallied the votes, electronically. My incumbent Democratic Congressman won, Bush lost my district but won the district I distributed the flyers in. Bush also won my state.

Acutally, iFAQ sounds cooler.
Here's a few things about moi:

1. I'm American- I know it's stating the obvious, but I just wanted to make it clear.
2. I am a student.
3. The first blog I read was Instapundit back when he was on blogger, sometime after 9/11.
